- Grooming: Grooming is performed to raise the stems of lying grass, so when topdressing, the topdressing sand is easily inserted between the stems.

-Brushing: Brushing raises the lying leaves, making the lawn surface more beautiful.

Green grooming is the work of establishing grass stems on golf course greens, and is performed in March and May to manage grass density and thatch.

The timing of green grooming is as follows:

-March: This is the time when the warm-season grass begins to prepare for green-up in earnest, and vertical mowing and grooming are performed.

-May: This is the time when the grass that has been dormant all winter starts to grow, making it the best time to level the green surface.

Green grooming helps to keep the grass stems erect and mowed, and helps the soil get between the stems when topdressing.

Grooming should be done once or twice a week during the grass growing season and should be done in conjunction with brushing.
In particular, it is effective to brush with a self-propelled green mower in the early morning hours and to work with a fast-rotating riding green mower during the day when there is no moisture on the green surface after clearing or after the last team.

The grooming work advance notice is appropriate at 0 to -2 mm depending on the green condition, and when working, change the direction (12 o'clock, 11 o'clock, 1 o'clock) and when growth is good, pull the mat to raise the lying leaves and work in reverse direction to maximize the effect.

It is recommended to apply a small amount of soil of 0.3 mm or less after the work, as a large amount of soil can delay the timing of the next grooming work and brushing work.

Grooming removes grass understory, adjusts the number of grass leaves to narrow the width of the leaves, and makes the grass stems thin, which helps with green speed. It also plays a role in uprighting grass plants along with brushing, which increases the amount of photosynthesis in the grass plants.

Generally, grooming is done by rotating the blade from top to bottom in a forward direction so that the cuttings go out in the forward direction. At this time, the grooming blade is lowered to the same height as the cutting blade. In case of lower leaves or high density, it should be adjusted within -1 to 3 mm .
