Debot Management

The faster the green speed, the easier the putting, and the more opportunities there are to lower your score.

Divot management is an important task that must be repeated daily.

In golf, a "divot" is a piece of grass that breaks off when the club head digs into the turf . In Korean, it is also called "turf ground."
This refers to the mark left when the club collides with the ground during the swing process. It refers to the turf being lifted when the club head hits the grass due to reasons such as a "duff shot" or "backsand".
Divots occur when you hit an iron shot accurately, or when you miss a shot and hit the ground behind the ball. Divots cause various problems, such as damage to the grass, interference with the next shot, and poor appearance.

If you hit an iron shot and there is no divot, it means that you did not hit it with a downblow, and it shows that the shot is not perfect. In the end, all tee areas, fairways, etc. where irons are used should be considered as places where divots are constantly created.
That is why it is said that "the most feared pest on a golf course is divots" was already introduced in the Greenkeeper Reporter in 1941.

In grass maintenance, it is very important to quickly recover from divots. In particular, in the case of tee areas on par 3 courses , divots occur frequently due to the frequent use of irons.

Divot replenishment mixture

It is important for each golf course to properly prepare a mixture that is suitable for the course.
Usually, a mixture of sand, peat, and fertilizer in a ratio of 80:10:10 is used. Add a little water and mix well so that the minerals are well mixed into the soil and mixture.

How to repair a divot

1) Add sand and fertilizer
- Condition: If the grass's growing point remains, mix sand and fertilizer and add it.

2) Add seeds + fertilizer + sand (overseeding)
- If there is no growing point for the grass, mix and add germination promoting seeds + colored sand + fertilizer.
- Germination-promoting seeds: Soak grass seeds in water for at least 2-3 days or 8-10 days.

3) Planting fallen grass
- If the growing point and roots of the grass fall off together, press down with your feet after planting the fallen grass or apply sand.

4) Hole cutter repair
- If the divot area is large and you want to repair it early, use a 15cm diameter hole cut to dig 20cm deep in the nursery and replace it with the damaged divot area.

Daily Divot Work

- Process debots at least once a day

- Final divot processing at the same time as work is finished

- Sandbox needs to be replenished every day

- Normal work: 4 people per group to process the divot
